It is senseless not to allow homeowners to use biodegradable plastic bags for their garbage. No one wants a maggot infested bin to have to clean every other day. In our area we have possums and raccoons so the potential for a group of them to dump over the bin for the loose food is great. Is the city going to clean up those messses? Need to pause the program, rethink logical and doable methods that will allow everyone to comply. This is so typical of our governmental leadership today. Think it through first BEFORE you try to implement a program.

The main issue where I live is that the garbage company won’t take any plastic with the organic waste. For yard clippings this is ok. However, for food waste it makes a huge mess in the van and there is no easy way to keep the cans clean. A decent concept that doesn’t quite work as intended. Garbage contained in plastic bags is much cleaner to deal with.
