LAKE ELSINORE, CA—As Lake Elsinore transforms its downtown, the city reminds residents that now is the perfect time to support local businesses.

The City of Lake Elsinore’s downtown is transforming thanks to Rediscover Downtown, a city spokesperson said on the project’s website. Currently, seven open and future projects will ultimately enhance the downtown corridor.

“These civic improvements aim to improve the city’s infrastructure, aesthetics, and public spaces, fostering a stronger community and boosting local businesses while preserving downtown’s historic charm and character,” the city said. Lake Elsinore has invested $67.5 million in the city’s future. “We’re building a more connected, accessible, and beautiful downtown that residents and visitors will enjoy for years.”

The city frequently shows the status of those updates online as they shape the future of downtown.

“The transformation of Lake Elsinore’s downtown is underway, and we want you to be a part of it!” The Rediscover Downtown project promises to revitalize the city and was recently announced in a social media release.

According to the city, roadwork through Main Street began Jan. 6 and will continue until at least mid-February.

“The city has full roadway closures along N. Main Street between Heald Street and Limited Street. This will be implemented so crews can safely begin construction at several local street intersections, including Peck St, City Hall, and Graham Ave.

“Work activity will include roadway demolition, grading, and minor concrete operations for decorative intersection and crosswalk enhancements.

“Detour routes will vary based on the intersection and will include Graham Ave, Herald Ave, Peck St, Sulphur St, and Spring St. Construction work will proceed sequentially at each intersection along N Main St to ensure timely and efficient progress. The first intersection scheduled for work is Peck St.

“During this time, please use Graham Ave, Spring St, and Herald Ave as detour routes.”

“Rediscover Downtown is bringing new life to our city with exciting projects that will enhance our streets, public spaces, and community connections, all while preserving our historic charm.”

Future projects include the Lake Elsinore Library, Main Street Landscape and Aesthetic Improvements Projects, and Main Street Interchange Landscape projects.
