They fit the BITE model for a high control group, dictating to their members’ what behavior is acceptable or not, what information is allowed or not, and what thoughts and emotions they should have or not have. Individual thought is not ok. Deviation from this can lead to being shunned.

They shun ex members even if they’re family – treating them like they don’t exist anymore. It’s emotional manipulation to make people conform and be scared to leave. And it doesn’t mean the shunned person sinned and is unrepentant – a JW can simply stop believing their “governing body” is God’s channel and they’ll be cut off from every JW, and that’s their whole social curcle because their high control tactics isolates JWs from non-JWs.

JWs also believe only baptized, practicing JWs will survive armageddon and everyone else alive on earth at the time will be killed by Jesus. Everyone! Billions of people just because they’re not JWs. This is printed in their publications.
