On Saturday July 24th, ABBAFab brings their #1 Tribute to ABBA back to the stage at HHT. This was one of the first shows lost in the Covid shutdown, and ABBA fans have been anxiously waiting for the group’s return.

The ABBAFab show brings this dynamic pop group to life with a multimedia flair. The show highlights ABBA’s top hits from the 70’s and 80’s, including “Waterloo,” “Fernando,” “Honey Honey,” “Dancing Queen” and so many others. Based in Phoenix, the group features Anne Davies, Chelsea Faulds, Scotty Pearson, Nick Davies and a stellar lineup of musicians.

Performing around the world, ABBAFab dresses in nostalgic costumes with perfectly timed choreography and flawless harmonies. The banter between the artists between songs only adds to the fun experience. Tickets will sell out fast for this one. This band will ROCK the house!

In their 2018 appearance at HHT, the band was delighted to find many young smiling faces on the dance floor. This year’s return is guaranteed to be another sing-a-long party!

Patrons holding tickets for the 2020 show are reminded that they must exchange their old tickets before this new show is sold out.

Meanwhile, there are still tickets available for the Celebration of Life & Free Concert for Operations Director Bryan Carrier on Sunday July 18th. The start time for the event has shifted to 2pm, to accommodate the musicians coming to play in tribute to Bryan. There will be 15 musicians from various tribute bands playing songs from James Taylor, Carole King, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Crosby Stills Nash & Young, and The Eagles. Festivities will also include light refreshments during the concert.

The remaining shows in the 2021 Tribute Mania Concert Season are Tribute to Creedence Clearwater Revival, featuring Brad Ford and Fortunate Son (Jul 10), Tribute to Abba, with Abba Fab (Jul 24), Tribute to Santana, with Smooth Sounds of Santana (Aug 7), Tribute to Tina Turner, featuring Debby Holiday (Aug 14), Tribute to Neil Diamond, with Hot August Night (Aug 21), Tribute to Led Zeppelin, with Led Zepagain (Sept 4), Tribute to Bob Seger, with Turn the Page (Sept 18), Tribute to Foreigner. featuring 4NR (Oct 2), Tribute to The Beatles, with Hard Day’s Night (Oct 16), and Tribute to Fleetwood Mac with Mirage (Oct 23). Tickets for Tribute Mania are $25, general admission. Showtime is 7:00 pm, with doors open at 6:15 pm.

(HHT cancels tribute)

As we all stay home in response to the national health emergency, the staff of the Historic Hemet Theatre is working to make the most of the closure and still keep the Foundation solvent into the future. The last concert of Tribute Mania Season One was officially canceled this week. The Tribute to Abba featuring Abba Fab will be moved to November.

Season Two remains in limbo, scheduled to begin on May 2nd with a Tribute to Fleetwood Mac featuring Mirage. The ticket office remains closed for at least the next couple of weeks, following the guidelines of California officials. Renovation plans continue with a permit review scheduled with the City of Hemet by conference call.

Several key improvements including earthquake retrofit, heating & air upgrades and handicap facilities are included in the plans. Funding for the improvements are still needed, with a few grants possible. Meanwhile, a local artist is using the closure to complete some of the wall art needed to complete the lobby renovation.
