<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On September 19, 2023, 22-year-old Bryan Corona, of Moreno Valley, was located and apprehended in Guadalajara, Mexico, with federal assistance from members of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Inland Regional Apprehension Team (IRAT).  IRAT members corresponded with FBI Agents assigned to the Jalisco/Guadalajara, Mexico, area to facilitate the apprehension and deportation of Bryan Corona.  Corona was deported back to the United States of America and transferred into the custody of Investigators assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/799/Lake-Mathews-Station">Lake Mathews Station</a>.  On September 20, 2023, Corona was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for two counts of attempted murder.   </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Update:</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On June 1, 2023, at 7:00 a.m., search warrants were served at the 23800 block of Nanwood Drive; 23300 block of Rolanda Drive; 13400 block of Elsworth Street; and two locations on the 24100 block of Cottonwood Avenue, all in the city of Moreno Valley. These warrants were served with the assistance of Special Enforcement Teams from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Mathews Station, Lake Elsinore Station, Jurupa Valley Station, Perris Station, and San Jacinto Station, along with assistance from Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Bureau- SWAT and Aviation Teams. As a result of the search warrants, numerous items of evidence were recovered.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The shooter in this incident has been identified as 22-year-old Bryan Corona of Moreno Valley and is still at large. Please do not attempt to apprehend Corona as he is believed to be armed and dangerous. If seen, please contact 911 immediately. If you have any information that may lead to the capture of Bryan Corona, please contact Investigator Gil or Investigator Negrete of the Lake Mathews Station at 951-272-5600.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Details:</h3>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On Saturday, May 20, 2023, at approximately 12:49 am, deputies from the Lake Mathews Sheriff Station responded to the 17900 block of Van Buren Blvd in the unincorporated area of Riverside commonly known as Woodcrest regarding a shooting that just occurred. Upon arriving at the location, deputies located two adult males suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Deputies rendered immediate aid to the victims until emergency medical services arrived. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The victims were subsequently transported to local hospitals for treatment and are listed in stable condition.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Investigators from Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station arrived and assumed the investigation which revealed an altercation occurred outside of the business in the parking lot involving several people which led to the gunfire. This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call Investigator Gil of the Lake Mathews Station at 951-272-5600.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On July 26, 2023, at 9:36 p.m., <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/616/Thermal-Station">the Thermal Sheriff’s Station</a> patrol units responded to the 51800 block of Calle Techa, in the city of Coachella, regarding a shooting incident. Upon arrival, deputies located a 32-year-old Coachella resident suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was airlifted to a local hospital and is recovering. The investigation was assumed by the Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the investigation, the suspects were positively identified as Jeraldo Mederos, a 19-year-old resident of Indio, and two 15-year-old juveniles of Coachella. On August 02, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested one of the 15-year-old juveniles in the 47600 block of Oasis Street in the city of Indio. On August 15, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested the other 15-year-old juvenile in the 52700 block of Frederick Street in the city of Coachella. On August 16, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located and arrested Jeraldo Mederos, in the 47900 block of Arabia Street, in the city of Indio.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Jeraldo Mederos was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio for Attempt Murder, Mayhem, felony child endangerment, and probation violation. The 15-year-old juveniles were booked at the Juvenile Hall in the city of Indio for Attempt Murder and Mayhem.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On July 27, 2023, about 6:33 AM, deputies assigned to<a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/606/Cabazon-Station"> the Cabazon Sheriff’s Station</a> responded to the undeveloped desert area near Bonita Avenue and Elm Street in Cabazon regarding an unknown trouble. Deputies learned a male victim had been in an argument with a male suspect. The suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Sergio Gutierrez, struck the victim with a large piece of wood and stabbed the victim multiple times. Gutierrez fled the scene prior to deputies arriving. The victim was transported to a local hospital and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On August 1, 2023, Gutierrez was located in Cabazon and arrested for the assault. Gutierrez was booked into the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility for attempted murder.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On May 19, 2023, at 6:24 PM, <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/616/Thermal-Station">Thermal Station</a> patrol units responded to the area of Bay Drive and Miramar Drive, in the unincorporated county area of North Shore, for a report of a shooting at an occupied vehicle. The driver of the vehicle observed the suspect arguing with a female and throwing bottles at her. When the driver of the vehicle attempted to assist, the suspect pulled out a handgun and fired a single round into the vehicle, occupied by the driver and two additional juveniles. The investigation was assumed by the Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the investigation, the suspect was positively identified as David Lemus, a 20-year-old resident of North Shore. On June 15, 2023, a search warrant was served at Lemus’ residence, located in the 70000 block of North Shore Drive, North Shore. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On May 22, 2023, at 6:05 PM, <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/616/Thermal-Station">Thermal Station</a> patrol units responded to the 51200 block of Douma Street, in the city of Coachella, reference an attempt murder. The investigation revealed a Black male juvenile robbed a 17-year-old Hispanic male juvenile at gunpoint. The juvenile reported the incident to his parents, who responded to the area and found the suspect sitting in his vehicle. The victim’s parents attempted to take photographs of the suspect vehicle and the suspect to report the information to law enforcement. An argument ensued, and the suspect opened fire on the victim’s vehicle, striking the 34-year-old Hispanic female Coachella resident, and her 14-year-old son. A family member drove the victims, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, to a local hospital. The suspect and his juvenile passenger fled the scene on foot. No other injuries were reported. The investigation was assumed by the Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the investigation, the suspect was positively identified as a 16-year-old Black male juvenile of Indio. The Special Investigations Unit located the suspect, in the 83300 block of Flamingo Avenue in the City of Indio. The suspect was taken into custody without incident. A search warrant was served at the suspects residence and a loaded firearm was located. The passenger of the suspect vehicle has not been located or identified.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The suspect was booked into Juvenile Hall, for attempt murder, robbery, and assault with a deadly weapon.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On March 05, 2023, <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/616/Thermal-Station">Thermal Station</a> patrol units responded to the area of 7th Street and Lincoln Street, in the city of Mecca, reference an attempt murder. The investigation revealed a Hispanic male adult fired a single shot at a vehicle that was occupied by a 47-year-old Mecca resident. As the suspect ran away, he pointed the firearm at a witness. The suspect was not located. The victim was not injured during the shooting and was released from the scene. No one else was injured. The investigation was assumed by the Thermal Station Special Investigations Unit.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the investigation, the suspect was positively identified as Joseph Marco Federico Jr., 35-years-old of Mecca. On March 14, 2023, the Special Investigations Unit located Joseph Federico Jr., in the 91000 block of 7th Street, in the city of Mecca. Joseph Federico Jr. was apprehended without further incident. During the apprehension, Joseph Federico Jr. was found in possession of a loaded firearm.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A search warrant was served in the 91000 block of 7th Street, in the city of Mecca, with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team. At the conclusion of this investigation, there was evidence to support this was an isolated incident.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On February 2, 2023, deputies from <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/743/Lake-Elsinore-Station">Lake Elsinore Sheriff&#8217;s Station</a> responded to a domestic violence call for service in the 33000 block of Mountain View Avenue in the city of Wildomar. Lake Elsinore Station&#8217;s Special Enforcement Team (SET) assumed the investigation. They determined the suspect, identified as Juan Carlos Perez, a 30-year-old resident of Wildomar, strangled the victim and used a firearm during the commission of the crime. The victim sustained moderate injuries and was treated at the scene by medical personnel. On Friday, February 3, 2023, members of Lake Elsinore SET located and detained Perez. A search warrant was served at Perez&#8217; residence, and evidence related to the crime, including a firearm, was seized. Perez was later booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for attempted murder, domestic violence, and various other felony charges.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On April 11, 2022, at 3:01 p.m., deputies from <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/745/Moreno-Valley-Station">the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station</a> responded to several calls regarding a shooting on the 27000 block of Brodiaea Ave., in Moreno Valley. Upon arriving, deputies located a male juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he remains in intensive care. A description of the suspect was obtained and the suspect was identified as Willie Lee Clark Jr., an 18-year-old resident of Moreno Valley. Clark was later located by deputies. Crime scenes were secured, and Investigators from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station and the Central Homicide Unit responded to assume the investigation. Willie Lee Clark Jr. was later booked into jail for attempt murder. The investigation is on-going.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Update:</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Further investigation revealed the suspects to be 25-year-old San Jacinto resident Joshua Rivera and 24-year-old San Jacinto resident Jose Monrial.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Rivera was arrested on Saturday, December 19, 2020 and booked for his involvement in the incident. Later that day, personnel from the San Jacinto Station, with the assistance of <a href="https://rivco.org/">Riverside County</a> Special Weapons and Tactics Team served a search warrant at Monrial’s residence in the 800 Block of Minor St., San Jacinto. Monrial was not located during the service of the search warrant.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On Sunday, January 31, 2021, at approximately 7:09 P.M., a deputy responded to the 800 block of Minor St., San Jacinto, in reference to a medical aid call for service. While at the location he located Monrial, he was arrested and booked for his involvement in the incident.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On Thursday, December 17, 2020, at approximately 5:22 P.M, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/742/San-Jacinto-Station">San Jacinto Sheriff Station</a>, responded to a shooting that just occurred near the intersection of Hewitt Street and Esplanade Avenue, in the City of San Jacinto. Preliminary investigation revealed an unknown suspect, driving an unknown vehicle, pulled up next to the victim, who was also driving a vehicle. The suspect then fired multiple rounds into the victim’s vehicle. A canine in the back seat of the victim’s vehicle was struck by the gunfire and died from its injuries.</p>
