Reporting Deputy: Sergeant Jonathan Bodnar

File # EV233340020

Details:

On December 6, 2023, an armed robbery occurred at a bank located in the 14000 block of Schleisman Road, Eastvale. Riverside Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Investigators later learned of a similar robbery that occurred on January 4, 2024, in the city of Chino Hills.

Jurupa Valley investigators contacted investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department (SBCSD) Chino Hills Station regarding the similar incidents. Based on the two investigations, SBCSD investigators identified the suspect as Aresh Narmaki, a 52-year-old resident of Chino Hills. SBCSD Specialized Enforcement Division personnel arrested Narmaki without incident at his residence in the city of Chino Hills.

Jurupa Valley investigators responded as SBCSD investigators served a search warrant in the 6300 block of Blossom Lane, Chino Hills. As a result of the search warrant, evidence related to both robberies was recovered.

Narmaki was subsequently booked into the West Valley Detention Center for armed robbery and has an additional charge of armed robbery being filed with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. The joint investigation between RSD and SBCSD yielded a positive result and prevented Narmaki from continuing his robbery spree.

Anyone with additional information regarding the investigation is urged to contact Investigator Medina at Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch at (951) 776-1099 or the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station at (951) 955-2600 or Investigator Renear at San Bernardino Sheriff’s Dispatch at (909) 364-2000

As a reminder, “Community Policing” involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members. Business owners and residents are encouraged to report criminal activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency. Criminal activity can also be reported through the We-Tip Crime Reporting Hotline, (909) 987-5005.

Details:

On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 10:48 AM, deputies assigned to the San Jacinto Station responded to the Bank of Hemet, located in the 400 block of E. Esplanade Avenue in San Jacinto, regarding a bank robbery. Deputies arrived and learned an adult male suspect entered the bank, handed the teller a note, and fled the location with an undisclosed amount of cash. Deputies began an investigation and were able to quickly identify a suspect and suspect vehicle description.

Based on the suspect information broadcasted to surrounding stations, deputies assigned to the Southwest Station located the suspect vehicle on Benton Road and Via Cajon in the unincorporated area of Sage. A vehicle enforcement stop was conducted and the driver was detained. The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and identified as the robbery suspect. Evidence from the bank robbery was recovered during the investigation. The suspect, identified as James Cook, a 22-year-old resident of Temecula, was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for robbery. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Investigator Vasquez of the San Jacinto Station at 951-654-2702.
