City of Perris Commercial Vehicle and Speed Safety Enforcement

Perris, Calif. – On October 12, 2023, The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Perris Station, conducted a traffic operation in the City of Perris. The Perris Traffic Team performed the operation along Ramona Expressway, Perris, which ran from 9:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. The goal of this operation was to educate motorists and to help prevent traffic collisions.

During this operation, 4 citations were issued for commercial vehicle code violations, 4 administrative citations were issued for failure to drive on the Perris City designated truck route, 11 citations were issued for unsafe speed, 2 individuals were arrested for their outstanding warrants, and 1 person was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

The Perris Sheriff’s Station plans to continue these types of enforcement operations to help combat traffic collisions and to educate the motoring public that unsafe driving habits will not be tolerated. Two Arrested and Fourteen Cited at City of Perris DUI Checkpoint

Perris, Calif. – On September 08, 2023, 2 people were arrested for DUI, and 14 citations were issued, for violations such as driving with suspended/revoked license or without a license at a DUI/ Drivers license checkpoint.

The DUI/ Drivers license checkpoint. was held at Ramona Expy. and Rider St. from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m.

14 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, and 1,144 vehicles were contacted. 32 vehicles were subject to secondary screening, 4 field sobriety tests were conducted, and 4 vehicles were towed.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
