<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On January 30, 2024, at 5:00 a.m., the Coachella Community Action Team, with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, and the Emergency Services Team, served a weapons-related search warrant at a residence in the 85000 block of Cairo Street, located within the city of Coachella.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">During the search warrant service, deputies located two firearms, one of which was reported stolen, ammunition, and suspected Fentanyl. Pedro Gonzalez, 26, and Miguel Gonzalez, 46, both residents of Coachella, were taken into custody without incident. During the search warrant service, deputies contacted Giovanni Huerta, 28, a resident of Thermal, who had an active warrant for violating the terms of his parole after he removed his GPS monitoring device.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Pedro Gonzalez was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for possession of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm and narcotics, child endangerment, and committing a felony while out on bail.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">-Miguel Gonzalez was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for possession of a stolen firearm, a felon in possession of a firearm, and a felon in possession of ammunition.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">-Giovanni Huerta was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for the active warrant for being a parolee at large.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 1:05 P.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (GVVCGTF) conducted suppression patrol in the city of Cathedral City. During the patrol, Gang Task Force Officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop near Date Palm Drive and Tortuga Road in Cathedral City. During the stop, Gang Task Force Officers contacted the occupants of the vehicle, Mohammad Ali Mir, a 49-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs and Andrew Gamboa, a 32-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs. Gang Task Force Officers learned Mir was on active state parole and conducted a parole compliance search of the vehicle. During the search, they located a loaded 9mm handgun without any identifying serial numbers (commonly referred to as a “Ghost Gun”). Additionally, they located suspected methamphetamine and evidence indicative of narcotics sales. Both Mir and Gamboa were arrested at the scene. Mir was charged with Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Methamphetamine for Sales, Possession of a Loaded Firearm with Narcotics and Violation of Parole. Gamboa was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Committing a Felony While on Bail, and Driving While Addicted to Drugs. Mir and Gamboa were subsequently booked at <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/708/John-J-Benoit-Detention-Center">John Benoit Detention Center</a>.</p>
