A celebration of local agriculture and community spirit is set to take place in Temecula Valley as organizers prepare for the annual Spring Harvest Festival, scheduled for Saturday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The one-day event will feature a variety of activities designed for all ages, including fresh produce tastings, artisan vendors, live entertainment, and interactive experiences that highlight the region’s farming heritage.

Attendees can explore booths hosted by local growers, where they can sample seasonal fruits, learn about sustainable farming practices, and purchase farm-fresh goods directly from producers. Organizers say the festival is an opportunity to connect residents with the agricultural roots of the valley.

Families will find plenty to enjoy in a designated kids’ area, which will include games, craft stations, face painting, and educational exhibits focused on nature and food production. A small petting zoo is also expected to be part of the lineup.

Live music will be featured throughout the day, with local bands performing a mix of country, folk, and classic hits. Food vendors will offer a range of options, from barbecue and street tacos to fresh-baked desserts and specialty beverages.

In addition to entertainment, the festival will include live cooking demonstrations led by local chefs, showcasing recipes that incorporate locally grown ingredients. Visitors will have the chance to watch, learn, and sample dishes prepared on-site.

Parking will be available at nearby designated lots, with shuttle service provided to help ease traffic flow. Event organizers recommend arriving early to take full advantage of the day’s activities.

The Spring Harvest Festival is organized by a coalition of local businesses and community groups aiming to promote regional agriculture while creating a fun, family-friendly environment.

Organizers encourage residents and visitors alike to attend and support local farmers, artisans, and small businesses that contribute to the area’s vibrant economy.

Additional details and updates about the event are expected to be shared in the coming weeks.

San Jacinto, CA — November 19, 2024 — The Mayor of San Jacinto, in a heartwarming display of community pride, called in the winners of the 2024 Fall Fishing Tournament at the Golden Era Golf Course to be officially recognized during the City Council meeting on Monday, November 19th. The event brought together local families and residents to celebrate the achievements of these young anglers who are shaping the future of the community through their participation in healthy, outdoor activities.

With the full support of their families, the young winners proudly received certificates of recognition from the Mayor, who expressed his admiration for their accomplishments. “It is an honor to stand before these young individuals today,” the Mayor said. “They represent the bright future of our community, and their dedication to pursuing positive, healthy activities like this fishing tournament is something we should all celebrate. These kids are not only enjoying the outdoors, but they’re also showing us the power of persistence, teamwork, and a love for nature. They hold the future in their hands, and it’s up to all of us to support and nurture their growth.”

Councilwoman Crystal Ruiz and her daughter who was one of the winners

The event saw families arriving in full support, and the pride and joy in the air were palpable as each winner was acknowledged. Parents, siblings, and relatives filled the City Council chamber, sharing in the pride of seeing their children recognized for their achievements. The young anglers beamed with excitement as they were honored by the city, and many shared how meaningful the recognition was to them.

“We are so proud of our children and grateful to the City of San Jacinto for recognizing their hard work,” said one parent in attendance. “It’s great to see the city taking time to support these kinds of activities. It’s not just about the competition, but about fostering a healthy lifestyle and sense of accomplishment in our youth.”

The Fall Fishing Tournament, held at the picturesque Golden Era Golf Course, was part of a larger initiative to encourage outdoor recreation and community engagement. Many local Community groups contributed to this event with the Greater San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce. The Mayor emphasized that activities like these help to instill values that will benefit the young participants for years to come, both personally and within the community.

“Today’s recognition is more than just an award,” the Mayor added. “It’s about building community spirit and supporting our future leaders. By investing in the next generation, we are creating a healthier, stronger, and more vibrant San Jacinto.”

The City of San Jacinto in tandem with the Greater San Jacinto Chamber of Commerce looks forward to continuing to support youth initiatives that promote both personal growth and community well-being.

The Soboba Tribal Halloween Carnival on Oct. 19 featured a couple of first-time contests along with the popular annual costume contest. Held at the Soboba Sports Complex from 6 to 9 p.m., food was served and vendors offered fun activities at booths that were set up outdoors on the grassy field.

Soboba Parks and Recreation Activities Director Jennifer Garcia introduced a Witch Hat contest and a pumpkin carving contest for the first time. “Each year, I try to think of something new for the community to do as a family,” she said.

With more than 900 attendees, there was a constant flow of fun at each booth that featured ring toss, cornhole, Plinko and other carnival-style games for all ages. Several booths offered free takeaways and all of them had plenty of candy.

The Soboba Foundation decorated with a “Hocus Pocus” theme to hand out full-sized candy bars, while the Cultural Resource Department had reusable drinking cups and collection bags with different Halloween designs for all the guests. Sylvan Learning added a raffle for a lucky winner to receive a drawstring backpack filled with school supplies.

Members of H.A.L.O. (Helping and Loving Others) had a unique game of frybread toss. The group’s founder, Linda Resvaloso, said her granddaughter came up with the idea because the organization is known for making food for community families in need.
