According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, crews were dispatched around 10:44 a.m. to Fire Road West after air operations units located a mountain biker in a hard-to-reach area. 

Aeromedics were lowered by hoist from a helicopter and began advanced life-saving efforts on the roughly 50-year-old man, who was in severe medical distress and undergoing CPR.

Additional firefighters hiked toward the scene while others used a four-wheel-drive vehicle to try to reach the patient from the ground. The Burbank Fire Department also responded, sending crews in a side-by-side utility vehicle to assist.

By about 11:38 a.m., LAFD said the man could not be revived despite extensive efforts. 

Aeromedics completed the protocol for a determination of death, and the scene was set to be turned over to law enforcement.

No further details about what caused the medical emergency were immediately released.

Details:

On September 10, 2023, approximately 6:56 p.m., deputies were notified of a medical emergency at a boat ramp, located in the 32000 block of Riverside Drive, in the city of Lake Elsinore. Deputies were informed a male was riding a jet ski on the lake with a family friend when they were involved in a collision. The family friend brought the male to the boat launch for medical attention. While at the boat launch the subject suffered a medical emergency and Cal Fire responded.

Cal Fire performed life saving measures and the subject was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Names are being withheld pending Coroner notification.

Details:

On July 4, 2023, at 1:58 PM, deputies were dispatched to an air emergency at the 37000 block of Industry Way in unincorporated Murrieta. When deputies arrived, they confirmed a small plane with four occupants had crashed. The adult male pilot was pronounced deceased at the scene and three juvenile occupants were transported to a local area hospital with different degrees of injuries. The deceased pilot has been identified as Jared Newman, a 39-year-old resident of Temecula. The investigation was assumed by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.

On February 13, 2021, about 11:57 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Moreno Valley Station, responded to the report of a hit and run traffic collision involving a pedestrian, near the intersection of Perris Boulevard and Fir Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies arrived on-scene to find that a male pedestrian had suffered life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. Deputies determined the vehicle involved in the collision with the pedestrian had fled the area without rendering aid or summoning assistance.

The Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Information obtained during the preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was crossing Perris Boulevard, south of the intersection, when he was struck by an older, white, two-door Pontiac Grand Am traveling northbound on Perris Boulevard at a high rate of speed. The Pontiac slowed and pulled to the side of the roadway with a purple Scion XB following the collision, after which both the Pontiac and Scion fled the area eastbound on Fir Avenue.

It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision. The investigation will remain on-going.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station Traffic Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation. San Sevaine Way and Wabash Drive was closed for the duration of the investigation.

The identity of the deceased subject is pending confirmation and notification to next of kin by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.  The identity of the driver of the vehicle involved will not be released at this time.

The preliminary investigation revealed an Infinity passenger car was traveling westbound on Ramona Boulevard at a high rate of speed. After going through the intersection of Lyon Avenue, the vehicle lost control and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a power pole and came to rest on its roof. The identification of the decedents is being withheld pending the Coroner’s notification of the next of kin.

The San Jacinto Stations Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. During the investigation, Ramona Boulevard was closed in the area of Lyon Avenue. As of the time of this release, the roadway continues to remain closed for power line repairs. On Tuesday, July 28, 2020, about 2:25 AM, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to a report of a single vehicle traffic collision, on Mission Boulevard north of Highway 60, Jurupa Valley. 

Upon arrival, deputies located  a male adult with major injuries inside a compact vehicle, which had collided against a tree. He was determined to be the sole occupant and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The Jurupa Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team is conducting a full investigation to determine the cause of the collision. At this time it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factor in this collision.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, about 8:34 AM, deputies responded to a report of a traffic collision at River Road cross of Baron Road, in the city of Eastvale.

Upon arrival, deputies located an injury traffic collision involving two vehicles. A male adult driver was transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital for treatment. On the way to the hospital the male adult succumbed from his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle cooperated with the investigation and was released from the scene with minor injuries.

The preliminary investigation revealed one of the vehicles was traveling eastbound on Baron Road cross of River Road. The driver attempted to make a northbound turn onto River Road from a southbound only turning lane. The vehicle was struck by the second vehicle that was traveling southbound on River Road.

The Jurupa Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. River Road was closed in both directions while deputies processed the scene. At this time it does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor in this traffic collision.

On Thursday, June 11, 2020, about 11:46 PM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Pigeon Pass Road and Ironwood Avenue in the City of Moreno Valley.  Upon arrival, deputies located a pickup truck with two occupants trapped inside it.  Deputies and an off-duty emergency medical technician began rendering medical aid to the occupants of the pickup truck.  Minutes later, paramedics from the Moreno Valley Fire Department and American Medical Response arrived on-scene and began advanced life support measures as well.  Both occupants were transported to a local hospital where the female passenger succumbed to her injuries.  The identity of the female victim is not being released at this time pending next of kin notification.

Members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.  The intersection of Pigeon Pass Rd. and Ironwood Ave. was closed for the investigation for approximately three hours.
