The third edition of PS HomeBoys, Pride Under the Pines Pride Festival, is set to go live in two weeks on Saturday, October 7, 2023, in Idyllwild, CA, with non-stop electronic dance music and dancing from 12- 9 pm. The full day of fabulous entertainment will feature two musical headliners, hilarious comedians, and superstar drag divas who are all planning on rocking the outdoor stage. Last year’s event, which totaled over 1500 guests from across Southern California, enjoyed the picturesque city of Idyllwild and its rustic roots, fresh mountain air, and beautiful pine trees, among fellow LGBTQ+ family and friends of all ages.

To kick off this year’s festivities Team Pride Under The Pines and the event’s host venue The Rustic Theatre are Inviting guests to a Free Welcome Soiree Hosted by actor Emrhys Cooper which will feature a collaboration with the brilliant minds behind Idyllwild Pictures & Tribute Studio. Welcome Soiree will be held in The Rustic Theatre’s lobby, theatre, and outdoor patio, on Friday, October 6th from 7-8 pm and will be followed by a Live taping from 8-9 pm of Pride & Prejudice docu-series, brought to you by Idyllwild Pictures with guest appearances by actor/writer Donal Brophy and award-winning queer filmmaker Billy Clift.

Pride Under The Pines musical headliner International pop star and Multi-platinum Recording Artist DEV, who is best known for her US Billboard Hot 100 hit “Like A G6″ with Far East Movement ft. The Cataracs, whose performance will be sure to bring down the house with her unique style of “futuristic” and “electro-pop” hits and “pulsing beats”. The event’s second musical headliner is John Duff, who is poised to become the next gay pop star according to various media outlets. Known for his hit songs “Somebody’s Daughter” with Nellie Salisbury, and “High Heels”, the newest track from his highly-anticipated debut EP “Homo•Sapien”, John Duff is going to set the stage on fire with his sultry voice and raw sex appeal.

Delivering an amazing and unique blend of house-hip-hop-dance beats that will undoubtedly have guests dancing the day away is KGAY’s 106.5 Palm Springs’ very own DJ Galaxy, who is also one of the event sponsors. The 29th annual Idyllwild Jazz in the Pines festival got underway Monday, showcasing a slate that, over a nearly two-week period, will combine up-and-coming artists with headliners from across the country.

“The 2023 iteration will feature a robust lineup of performances by famed artists and students, taking place on the (Idyllwild Arts Academy’s) 205-acre campus, as well as select venues in the town of Idyllwild,” according to academy President Pamela Jordan.

She said that unlike previous fests, this one will provide opportunities for student musicians to play alongside some of the top-tier talent on the circuit, building “a bridge between professionals and the next generation of jazz artists.”

The Student Clinic, which will include master classes and open rehearsals, will be interspersed with the big name entertainment.

“By bringing together artists of all ages, ‘Jazz In The Pines’ now aligns with what Idyllwild Arts has done exceptionally well for nearly 75 years,” Jordan said. “By ensuring a continuing dialogue of artistic expression, younger generations are taught to embrace the universal language of the arts to change lives and connect with human kind.”

The mile-high venue will host the Euphoria Brass Band, the Marshall Hawkins Trio, the Tom Hynes Duo, the Idyllwild Arts Faculty Jazz Jam, the Yve Evans Quartet and others.

The event will continue to the evening of July 15.

The Holmes Amphitheater, French Quarter, Stephens Hall and Lowman Concert Hall will serve as venues, along with appearances elsewhere, including the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.

In addition to musical entertainment, there will be panel discussions, artist meet-and-greets and alumni events. Funds from festival ticket sales support scholarships for aspiring musicians.

Admission runs from $25 to $500, depending on the dates and number of shows festival-goers want to attend.

On Saturday December 14th from 11am to 5pm, The Hemet Woman’s Club will host their first annual holiday street festival in the Historic Downtown District of Hemet. Over a dozen organizations will be partnering with HWC to create a very special community event that will draw thousands of visitors to downtown Hemet.

Planned activities for HARVARD STREET HOLIDAYS include:

• Live entertainment performed by local schools and community groups
• A Wine & Beer Garden for a pleasant spot to relax and enjoy the music
• A large vendor area with lots of local and regional vendors of all kinds 
• Visits with Santa and his elves and plenty of locations for special photos with the family
• A petting zoo with a Nativity theme
• A kid zone filled with free games & activities, including face painting, carnival games & more
• Make-A-Craft area with free holiday craft projects for kids of all ages
• An art sale & exhibit, with live “plein air” artists 
• Roaming performers including carolers and street artists
• Special festival sales at local merchants

All Kid Zone and Make-A-Craft activities will be free of charge, with local groups providing the equipment, materials and staffing. Sponsorships will assist with the cost of street closures, equipment and decorations.
