On Thursday, August 3, 2023, at 9:00 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance of California Highway Patrol K-9 Team and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Aviation, served a search warrant at a residence located in the 45000 block of Bradley Way in the city of Indio. During the service of the search warrant Gang Task Force Officers located a non-serialized short-barreled AR-15 rifle, and a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun with full-automatic switch. Gang Task Force Officers arrested documented criminal street gang member and convicted felon, David Bustos, 24-year-old of Indio for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Short Barreled Rifle, Possession of a Machine Gun, and Possession of an Unregistered Handgun. Also arrested was Kaztynnee Zamorez, 20-year-old of Indio for Possession of a Short Barreled Rifle, Possession of a Machine Gun, and Possession of an Unregistered Handgun. Both subjects were booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

On Friday, December 9, 2022, at 1:00 PM, the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CBBCGTF) conducted an operation that resulted in the arrest of a documented criminal street gang member who was in possession of a loaded firearm. Convicted felon, Joshua Daniel Beltran Macias, was arrested during a traffic enforcement stop at the intersection of San Gabriel Circle and San Luis Rey Drive in Cathedral City. Gang Task Force Officers located a loaded unregistered .40 caliber semi-auto handgun in Beltran Macias’ possession. Beltran Macias was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Violation of Probation. He was subsequently booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

On Friday, October 21, 2022, at 11:30 PM, the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force served a search warrant at a residence in the 700 block of Michigan Avenue in Beaumont. During the service of the search warrant, Gang Task Force Officers located a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun. The gun was absent any identifying serial numbers. Gang Task Force Officers arrested convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Adrian Cortez, a 19-year-old resident of Beaumont. Cortez was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Non-Serialized Firearm, and Violation of Probation. Cortez was subsequently booked at the John Benoit Detention Center.

On October 5, 2022, at 7:00 A.M., members of the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team (SET), and the Riverside County K-9 Team, served a search warrant at a residence located in the 50-000 block of Kenmore Street in the city of Coachella. The search warrant stemmed from an incident in the city of Coachella where a suspect fled from a vehicle and discarded a loaded handgun. Members of CCAT were able to identify the suspect as documented criminal street gang member, William Flores Rosas, a 21-year-old resident of Coachella. During the initial incident, the handgun was recovered. During the search warrant, Rosas was arrested and items of evidentiary value were located and seized.

Rosas was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, convicted felon in possession of ammunition, and committing a felony while out on bail. Rosas was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.

During the search, Gang Task Force officers located a loaded .40 caliber semi-automatic Glock handgun. As a result, Gang Task Force officers arrested convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Hector Diaz, a 19-year-old resident of Cathedral City for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Gang Member in Possession of a Firearm, Violation of Probation, and Child Endangerment. Diaz was subsequently booked at the John Benoit Detention Center.

During the compliance search Gang Task Force Officers located a loaded .357 revolver with an obliterated serial number. Gang Task Force Officers arrested convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Sean Hatley, a 45-year-old resident of Desert Hot Springs for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Firearm with Obliterated Serial Number. Hatley was subsequently booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

On Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at 10:40 A.M. Task Force Officers with the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) conducted a traffic stop in the area of Jackson Street and Kenner Avenue in Indio. During the traffic stop Gang Task Force Officers contacted convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Rafael Gerardo Jr., 39 of Indio. Gang Task Force Officers determined Gerardo Jr. was on active California State Parole and proceeded to conduct a parole compliance search of Gerardo Jr. and his vehicle. During the search Gang Task Force Officers located a non-serialized 9mm semi-auto handgun or what is commonly referred to as a “Ghost Gun.” Additionally, they located approximately 4 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, 97 Fentanyl pills, and ammunition. Gerardo Jr. will be charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm with Narcotics, Gang Member in Possession of Firearm, Possession of Non-Serialized Firearm (Ghost Gun) and Violation of Parole. Gerardo Jr. was subsequently booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at 7:00 P.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force served a search warrant at a residence located in the 66000 block of 4 Street in Desert Hot Springs. The search warrant was the culmination of an investigation that resulted in the arrest of convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Christopher Arana, a 29-year-old resident of Indio, for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Firearm with Narcotics, Possession of Fentanyl, Gang Member with a Firearm, and Failure to Appear in Court while on Bail. During the investigation Gang Task Force Officers located suspected fentanyl pills, cash, ammunition, and a loaded 9mm semi-auto handgun all of which were determined to be in Arana’s possession. Arana was also found to have three active Felony Arrest Warrants for Narcotics and Weapons Violations and for Violation of PRCS (Supervised Release). Arana was subsequently booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
