<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 10:31 am, deputies assigned to the city of La Quinta, responded to the La Quinta Cove Hiking Trail regarding a hiker in need of rescue. During the hike, the hiker became exhausted and could not continue the trail. Rescue 9, a helicopter from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Aviation Unit, responded and hoisted the hiker off the trail. A landing zone was established and the hiker was transported to an awaiting team of paramedics. The hiker was medically evaluated and released.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/">The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department </a>reminds hikers to hike early, have a plan, hydrate, and bring plenty of water.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On Saturday, December 12, 2020 about 2:41 AM, deputies from <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/">Riverside County Sheriff</a>’s Department Perris Station responded to a major injury traffic collision near the intersection of Indian Avenue and Markham Street in the city of Perris. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a collision involving a silver 2007 Lexus and a red 2013 Ken Worth Big Rig tractor trailer. The driver of the Lexus suffered major injuries and succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Her identity is not being released at this time. The driver of the Ken Worth tractor sustained no injuries and was questioned at the scene. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision, the investigation is on-going.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Perris Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The <a class="rank-math-link" href="https://rivco.org/">Riverside County</a> coroner’s office Saturday named one of two people killed in a solo vehicle crash into an electrical pole in Riverside.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Firefighters responded to the area of Comer Avenue and Third Street at 11:20 p.m. Friday and found two adults in the vehicle dead, their bodies trapped in the wreckage, according to Battalion Chief Michael Staley of the <a class="rank-math-link" href="https://riversideca.gov/fire/">Riverside Fire Department</a>.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The coroner’s office identified one of the people killed as Lizette Gonzalez, 22, of Riverside.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Authorities did not name the second person who died but said he was a 24-year-old man from Riverside.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Details of what led up to the crash were not available from the <a class="rank-math-link" href="https://www.riversideca.gov/rpd/">Riverside Police Department</a>.</p>
