On Wednesday, deputies and personnel from the Riverside County Post Release Accountability Compliance Team located 23-year-old Samuel Salazar at a home in the 700 block of E. Wright Street in Hemet and took him into custody without incident, according to a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office. 

Salazar was identified as the suspect shortly after the shooting, which happened on May 7, 2023, but deputies were unable to locate him. Despite a warrant for his arrest, he continued to elude their efforts until this week. He was booked for murder at the Robert Presley Detention Center.

The 2023 incident left 18-year-old Lake Elsinore man Noah Ivancso dead in the 33100 block of Jamieson Street. He was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds when deputies arrived at the time and he was eventually pronounced dead at the scene. 

As their investigation into the incident continues, investigators said they would not be sharing further details. Anyone who may know more was asked to contact RSO’s Central Homicide Unit at (951) 955-2777.

Ian Norwood Wentz, 47, of Lake Elsinore was arrested and booked into the Byrd Detention Center Sunday on suspicion of murder after he surrendered to deputies at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department station in Lake Elsinore.

Wentz is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.

His case was under review Wednesday by the District Attorney’s Office.

According to sheriff’s Sgt. Alberto Loureiro, shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, the suspect was involved in an unspecified dispute with Garrett Pickering in the 2000 block of East Lakeshore Drive, near Elm Street.

During the confrontation, Wentz allegedly pulled a handgun and shot Pickering, then fled the scene, Loureiro said.

Witnesses called 911, and patrol deputies and paramedics reached the location minutes later, at which point the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wentz was soon identified as the alleged shooter, but before a search was initiated, the suspect surrendered without incident Sunday at the sheriff’s station on Limited Avenue.

There was no word on whether the two men were acquainted or strangers.

Kenyelo Centeno Guzman, 19, of Lake Elsinore was arrested last week following a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department investigation in the 600 block of West Lakeshore Drive, near South Lindsay Street.

Guzman is charged with attempted murder, possession of a loaded stolen firearm and a sentence-enhancing allegation of using a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony.

He pleaded not guilty during an arraignment Tuesday before Superior Court Judge Judith Clark, who scheduled a bail review hearing for April 10 at the Southwest Justice Center based on a motion by the defense.

Guzman is being held in lieu of $1 million bail at the Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.

His co-defendant, 41-year-old Belica Guzman, was arrested alongside him and charged with child endangerment. She’s free on a $35,000 bond and is due for arraignment May 9 at the Murrieta courthouse.

According to sheriff’s Sgt. Jarrod Meissen, shortly after midnight on March 22, Kenyelo Guzman was involved in an apparent gang-related confrontation on Lakeshore. During the encounter, Guzman pulled a handgun and opened fire on the man, whose identity was not disclosed, inflicting “multiple gunshot wounds,” Meissen alleged. Another man, also not identified, was in the line of fire but wasn’t hit.

Meissen said the defendant fled before patrol deputies converged on the location minutes later.

The wounded victim was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar for treatment and was expected to make a full recovery.

After gathering information at the scene, the investigation was turned over to the sheriff’s Gang Task Force, whose members identified Guzman as the alleged assailant, according to Meissen.

An arrest warrant was served on the defendant at an apartment on West Limited Avenue a week later. He was taken into custody without incident. His relative, Belica Guzman, was also arrested at the residence and booked into the Murrieta jail, but she posted bond and was released hours later.

Neither Kenyelo nor Belica Guzman has documented prior felony convictions in Riverside County.
