On December 5, 2020, deputies from the Perris Station Special Enforcement Team responded to the 31000 block of Terand Ave., in Homeland, to conduct follow-up investigation to an illegal marijuana processing operation search warrant from November 27, 2020. As deputies approached the property, they observed marijuana in plain sight. Three suspects attempted to flee the property but were apprehended. Deputies obtained a search warrant for the property. A search of the property yielded 585 pounds of processed marijuana, 75 pounds of marijuana shake, an assault rifle and over $5,000 in U.S Currency. All the marijuana was subsequently removed from the property, and all U.S. currency was collected for asset forfeiture.

Gilberto Valdez Mercado a 32-year-old resident of Homeland, Jose Jhovany Botello a 26-year-old resident of San Jacinto and Noel Perez Hernandez a 27-year-old of San Jacinto were arrested for possession of marijuana for sales.
