Valley-Wide Soap Box Derby races through Menifee

Twenty-one racers sped down Menifee Road in Menifee on Saturday, Sept. 14 as part of Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District’s annual Soap Box Derby.

Racers in four divisions competed in homemade and pre-built cars. It is the seventh time Valley-Wide has organized the event in partnership with the City of Menifee.
“This is a great event for both racers and spectators, and it is one of our favorites,” said Dean Wetter, General Manager of Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District. “It’s all smiling faces as they come down the hill.”

Bracket B (Limo wheels) – 1. Walker Muzychenko; 2. Vincent Scola.

Bracket C (Training wheels) – 1. Illisa Baldonado; 2. Tony Shumaker.

Exhibition Bracket (Rubber wheels) – 1. Shamous Waite; 2. Katelyn Chamberland.
