The Riverside County Fire Department posted at 12:50 p.m. that crews were on a technical rescue at Faith Drive and Meridian Street. A person was trapped in a trench collapse, the post said, and rescue work was underway.

At 1:15 p.m. the department said bystanders had already gotten one patient out of a 15-foot-deep trench before first responders arrived.

“The patient was transported by ground ambulance to a local trauma center with serious injuries,” the post said.

Cal Fire did not release a name. As of 1:15 p.m., that was the last official update posted. The call was not listed on the department’s live-incidents page when checked later Tuesday afternoon.

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 10:59 AM, deputies assigned to the San Jacinto Station responded to the Soboba Flight Park, located in the 200 block of Soboba Road, reference reports of an injured paraglider. The investigation revealed a paraglider collided with the side of the mountain, several hundred feet above the Soboba Flight Park, and sustained moderate injuries. The paraglider was hoisted off of the mountain by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Rescue-9 helicopter. Once hoisted from the mountain, the injured paraglider was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) – A mountain biker fell into a 15-foot deep hole on Thursday along a trail in the Cleveland National Forest just west of Lake Elsinore and had to be rescued by firefighters.

The biker was reported down about 11 a.m. on the San Juan Trail, roughly a mile west of the Blue Jay Campground, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

It was unclear how the biker ended up in the pit, but he was injured and unable to extricate himself, according to reports from the scene.

Four engine crews and a truck company, numbering about 20 personnel, were sent to the location, staging at the campground, northwest of the Ortega (74) Highway.

Because of low clouds, rain and poor visibility, a Cal Fire helicopter could not be routed to the area to assist with the search, officials said.

A group of firefighters located the stranded biker about 12:25 p.m. and pulled him to safety, according to reports from the scene. The man was assisted down the trail to the campground, where an ambulance was waiting.

The extent of his injuries were not immediately known.
