This weekend in Lake Elsinore, you can dispose of them for free thanks to the Riverside County of Waste Resources.

On Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents can take advantage of a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event at 512 North Langstaff St.

Here’s what will be accepted:

• Paint Products: Paint, stain, varnish, adhesive, paint thinner, resin, epoxy, caulking and wood preservatives.
• Automotive Products: Used oil, oil filters, antifreeze, gasoline, diesel, automotive chemicals, brake fluid and transmission fluid.
• Universal Wastes: Batteries, fluorescent tubes & bulbs, light ballasts, smoke detectors and mercury thermostats.
• Electronic Waste: Televisions, monitors, computers and electronic devices.
• Lawn/Garden Products: Pesticides, herbicides, poisons, fertilizers, mothballs, garden chemicals, flea powder, BBQ propane tanks and kerosene lamp oil.
• Household Products: Cleaners, degreasers, aerosol cans, drain openers, disinfectants, pool chemicals, air fresheners, lighter fluid, nail polish, hair bleach and cooking oil.
• Health Care Products: Needles, sharps and unused medication (except controlled substances).

Here’s what will NOT be accepted:

• Ammunition and explosives
• Appliances, tires or trash
• Asbestos
• Containers larger than 5 gallons or 50 pounds
• Remediation or radioactive waste (except smoke detectors)
• Compressed gas cylinders greater than 40 pounds
• Controlled substances and infectious waste (except sharps)
• Out-of-County or business-generated waste (including but not limited to real estate and non-profit)
