<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On July 5, 2022, at 7:00am, deputies from <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/616/Thermal-Station">the Thermal Sheriff’s Station</a> assigned to the city of La Quinta were dispatched to the 52000 block of Avenida Carranza regarding subjects in the area attempting to commit multiple vehicle burglaries. Witnesses saw the suspects flee in a red pickup truck, which was located by a deputy, who conducted a vehicle enforcement stop. Two of the occupants were apprehended immediately. Three additional suspects fled from the vehicle on foot towards a local business and a nearby school. A brief lockdown of the business was requested while deputies searched the area for the outstanding suspects. All three outstanding suspects were located within a short period of time and the lockdown was lifted.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Manilo Zelaya-Hernandez, a 19-year-old resident of Thousand Palms, was arrested for prowling, and conspiracy. Daniel Martinez, a 21-year-old resident of La Quinta was arrested for prowling, conspiracy and resisting arrest. Both subjects were booked into John J. Benoit Detention Center. Two male juveniles were arrested for prowling, conspiracy and resisting arrest. Both male juveniles were booked into Indio Juvenile Hall. One female juvenile was released to a family member.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/744/Palm-Desert-Station">Palm Desert Station</a> Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) conducted further investigation regarding several vehicle burglaries that occurred between the dates of January 20, 2021 to February 2, 2021, in the communities of Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage. BSU identified Scott Farris, 49 years of Indio, as a suspect for his involvement in the multiple burglaries. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On February 17, 2021, BSU members with the assistance of the Palm Desert Special Enforcement Team located and arrested Farris in the 72000 block of El Paseo, in the city of Palm Desert. During his arrest, Farris was in possession numerous items of stolen property, linking him to six separate burglaries. Farris was transported and booked at the <a href="https://www.riversidesheriff.org/708/John-J-Benoit-Detention-Center">John Benoit Detention Center</a>, in the city of Indio.</p>
