Details:

On January 30, 2024, at 5:00 a.m., the Coachella Community Action Team, with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Services District Team, the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, and the Emergency Services Team, served a weapons-related search warrant at a residence in the 85000 block of Cairo Street, located within the city of Coachella.

During the search warrant service, deputies located two firearms, one of which was reported stolen, ammunition, and suspected Fentanyl. Pedro Gonzalez, 26, and Miguel Gonzalez, 46, both residents of Coachella, were taken into custody without incident. During the search warrant service, deputies contacted Giovanni Huerta, 28, a resident of Thermal, who had an active warrant for violating the terms of his parole after he removed his GPS monitoring device.

Pedro Gonzalez was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for possession of a stolen firearm, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm and narcotics, child endangerment, and committing a felony while out on bail.

-Miguel Gonzalez was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for possession of a stolen firearm, a felon in possession of a firearm, and a felon in possession of ammunition.

-Giovanni Huerta was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center for the active warrant for being a parolee at large.
