Details:

In December 2022, Lake Elsinore Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) deputies began a theft investigation related to multiple forklifts and tools being stolen from local Home Depot stores throughout Riverside County. Anestacio Delacruz (45, resident of Wildomar) was identified as the suspect.

On February 1, 2023, SET deputies wrote a search warrant for the residence in the 3200 block of Mesa Drive and a storage unit belonging to Delacruz. Approximately 3lbs of methamphetamine, over $50,000 in cash, a California non-compliant rifle, a handgun, several thousand rounds of various caliber ammunition and clothing worn by Delacruz was located at both locations.

Delacruz was transported and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for grand theft, stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, possession of a controlled substance while armed, possession of a controlled substance for sales, felon in possession of firearms, felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of high-capacity magazines.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Deputy Garza at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station (951) 245-3300.

As a reminder, “Community Policing” involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members. Business owners and residents are encouraged to report criminal activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency.
