Thief Who Stole Mobile Car-Detailing Trailer Arrested

Date:

A 45-year-old man suspected of stealing a trailer and firearms violations was arrested Friday following the execution of a search warrant at a house in Yucca Valley.

Justin Myles John was located on Friday by investigators in the 7000 block of Murray Lane after a search warrant was served at his house in connection with an investigation of a reported stolen mobile detailing trailer, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station received reports on Oct. 17 about a stolen trailer, with the victim stating the theft occurred the day before in the 39000 block of Vista Del Sol in Rancho Mirage, and that the trailer had an approximate value of $12,000.

The investigation was later led by deputies from the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team.

John was arrested with assistance from the Indian Wells and Palm Desert Special Enforcement Teams and booked into the John J. Benoit Detention Center on suspicion of vehicle theft and multiple firearm-related offenses, sheriff’s officials said.

Sheriff’s officials stated that during the investigation, deputies seized an unregistered firearm and ammunition.

The trailer has since been returned to its rightful owner, and a separate investigation into the fraudulent sale remains ongoing. Additional charges are expected to be filed later, according to the sheriff’s office.

Anyone with additional information on the case was urged to call Deputy Marco Castaneda at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at 760-836-1600.
