Two pedestrians on an electric scooter were struck near Palm and Commonwealth Avenue in Hemet about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22. One was pronounced dead; the driver later returned and was taken into custody, Hemet police said. Impaired driving appears to be a factor; the investigation is ongoing.
