California virus cases keep falling, more businesses reopen

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California’s improving coronavirus numbers continued their downward fall, leading to Tuesday’s announcement that much of the San Francisco Bay Area can reopen to a greater degree and that now 94% of the state’s population is out from under the most severe restrictions.

Search Warrant / Assault with a Firearm Arrest

On March 23, 2021, at 7:00 A.M., deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT), served a search warrant at a multiple residence’s in the cities of Indio and Palm Desert. The search warrant stemmed from an assault with a firearm investigation. Andrew Flores, 24 of Indio, was arrested for assault with a firearm and shooting at an occupied vehicle. Flores was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.

Search Warrant / Brandishing a Firearm and Criminal Threats Arrest

On March 23, 2021, at 9:00 A.M., deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT), served a search warrant at a residence in the 86-100 block of Las Flores Drive in the city of Coachella. The search warrant stemmed from a brandishing of a firearm investigation. Robert Soto, 18 of Coachella, was arrested for brandishing a firearm and making criminal threats. The weapon used in the incident was recovered at the residence. Soto was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center in the city of Indio.
