VA encourages donating blood amid blood crisis

The Department of Veterans Affairs and its participating VA medical centers across the country are in the midst of “Roll Up Your Sleeve 2022” blood drives through March in response to the ongoing national need for blood during the continuing COVID-19 public health emergency.

On February 10, 2022, at 9:00 PM, Thermal Station patrol deputies responded to the 79700 block of Avenue 42, in the unincorporated area of Bermuda Dunes, in reference a 17-year-old juvenile that had been shot multiple times. The investigation revealed the juvenile was in the area attempting to sale items via a social media application.

Kohler booked on murder, hit-run death after Palm Avenue scooter crash

Mason Drew Kohler, 31, was booked on felony murder, hit-and-run death, and DUI charges, according to the Riverside County jail roster, which lists a Hemet PD arrest at Palm Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue. Hemet police say two pedestrians on an electric scooter were struck there about 6:55 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22; one was pronounced dead. Police have not named the driver, and the decedent's identity remains withheld.

Shooters Sports Bar & Grill at 121 E. Florida Ave. was approved Sept. 22 to open back to full permit status, and the A placard was re-posted. The county report lists a manual score of 92, with no live or dead cockroach activity observed and a surveillance recheck by Sept. 29.
