On Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 5:04 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Perris Boulevard and Bay Avenue in Moreno Valley reference a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

As the investigation into the homicide of Elba Estrada continued, Riverside County Sheriff’s Investigators learned that Marilyn Cardenas was the daughter of Estrada.  Estrada was determined to be a resident of San Bernardino, California and Cardenas had recently relocated to the Coachella Valley.

On January 15, 2024, at 10:35 pm, deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a major-injury traffic collision on Etiwanda Avenue and Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road. Deputies located a single-vehicle collision and pronounced the driver, and sole occupant, deceased at the scene.

Swiss President Viola Amherd said Monday, during a visit by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to Bern, that her country has offered to organize a peace summit that aims to help bring an end to Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said his country would no longer pursue reconciliation with South Korea and called for rewriting the North’s constitution to eliminate the idea of shared statehood between the war-divided countries, state media said Tuesday.
