On Sunday, July 10, 2022, about 11:22 A.M., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station, responded to the report of a major injury collision near 3986 Rubidoux Boulevard, in the city of Jurupa Valley. Deputies and Cal Fire arrived on-scene to find a single vehicle occupied with a driver and passenger overturned. Both occupants were transported to Riverside Community Hospital. The passenger was not injured; however, was admitted for observation only. The driver was pronounced deceased.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Preliminary investigation indicated the driver of a Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound on Rubidoux Boulevard. The driver became unresponsive and lost control of the vehicle. The Cherokee hit a parked truck and overturned. Both directions of Rubidoux Boulevard between Mission Boulevard and Tilton Avenue were closed for the duration of the investigation.

At this time, it remains unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.
