Robbery Suspect Apprehended

On Saturday, September 10, 2022, about 7:19 PM, deputies from the Thermal Station responded to a robbery that occurred at a business in the 79200 Block of Highway 111 in the city of La Quinta. A male suspect entered the business and stole property after threatening employees with a knife. During the investigation, deputies identified the suspect as Argelio Reed, a 32-year-old resident of Indio.

On Monday, September 12, 2022, members of the La Quinta Special Enforcement Team located Reed in the 46900 Block of Jefferson Street in the city of La Quinta and was taken into custody without incident.

The stolen property was found in Reed’s possession and recovered. Reed was booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for robbery and violation of probation.
