Seeking the Public’s Help with a Fatal Hit-an-Run Traffic Collision

On October 27, 2022, at 10:40pm, deputies from the San Jacinto Station responded to a major injury hit-and-run traffic collision at the intersection of Ramona Expressway and Chase Street in the city of San Jacinto.  Deputies arrived and located an adult male laying unresponsive in the roadway.  The subject was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.  The San Jacinto Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.  The preliminary investigation revealed the male subject was walking within the crosswalk on Ramona Expressway at Chase Street when he was hit by gray, unknown make or model vehicle. After the collision, the vehicle did not stop and continued westbound on Ramona Expressway.

The identity of the deceased male subject will not be released at this time, pending further investigation and notification of next of kin. It is unknown at this time if drugs and/or alcohol are a factor in the collision.
