Missing Elderly Man Located

On November 15, 2022, at 7:46 PM, a deputy from the Southwest Station responded to the 31200 block of Jan Steen Court in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Winchester, reference a 76-year-old male who had gone missing. The investigation revealed the man left his home at 1:00 PM for a walk and never returned. A Riverside County Sheriff Department’s helicopter and bloodhound responded to the area and performed an extensive search, but were unable to locate him. Numerous deputies scoured the immediate area throughout the evening and into the next day. The Southwest Station’s Investigation Bureau assumed the investigation in the morning. Investigators and deputies continued to search the area for the subject.

On November 16, 2022, about 10:00 AM, a deputy searched the field on the east side of Winchester Road, south of Thompson Road, and located the subject lying in the field suffering from dehydration, hypothermia, exhaustion, and other medical issues. Paramedics responded and he was transported to a local hospital, where he is currently in stable condition. His disappearance and why he was in the field is still under investigation.
