On October 28, 2023, at 3:26 a.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a call of a major injury traffic collision on Country Village Road, north of Veseda Way. Deputies, along with paramedics from Cal Fire, responded within minutes and located a severely injured pedestrian laying in the roadway, who had been struck by a vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation.


The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation, which is ongoing. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and alcohol and/or drugs does not appear to be a factor. The pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Country Village Road between Country Club Drive and Wagon Way in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
