On Saturday, December 30, 2023, at about 11:05 p.m., deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a suspected DUI driver in Jurupa Valley.  As deputies were responding, a single vehicle collision occurred in the area the area of Riverview Drive and 42nd Street, Jurupa Valley. Deputies arrived and located the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle deceased.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is still under investigation and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs played a role in this incident. The identity of the driver will not be released at this time, pending notification to the next of kin.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Riverview Drive, between 42nd Street and Mission Blvd. in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
