On February 3, 2024, at 11:59 p.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a major-injury traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. Deputies and Cal Fire located the pedestrian in the roadway. Cal Fire performed lifesaving measures and ultimately pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene. The driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with the investigation. The Lake Elsinore Station’s Traffic unit assumed the investigation. The pedestrian’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. Alcohol and/or drugs were not deemed to be a factor in the collision.
