On February 16, 2024, at about 4:44 p.m., deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a major injury traffic collision near Rancho California Road and Margarita Road in the city of Temecula. Deputies located a vehicle versus motorcycle collision where the sole rider of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Accident Investigators from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, which is ongoing. The preliminary investigation revealed the SUV made a left turn out of a nearby business and collided with the motorcycle. The driver of the SUV was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. It is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs played a role in this collision.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
