Riverside Parents Arrested For Child Abuse, Drug Trafficking

Date:

RIVERSIDE, CA — A couple was arrested following a months-long investigation into allegations of child abuse and drug trafficking at their Riverside home, authorities announced.

The investigation was launched in mid-May after police learned that three children may have been physically abused by their parents, according to the Riverside Police Department. By then, the children had already been removed by Riverside County Child Protective Services and placed in temporary foster care.

During the child abuse investigation, detectives also suspected the parents were trafficking illegal narcotics from the home.

On July 15, detectives served a search warrant at the home in the 7900 block of Magnolia Avenue. During the search, investigators seized more than 900 grams of suspected heroin, more than 300 grams of cocaine, about 155 grams of MDMA, also known as ecstasy, and nearly 200 grams of suspected fentanyl pills, according to the department.

Investigators also found a large amount of cash and packaging materials, police said.

Investigators said that the drugs were found in areas easily accessible to the children, and detectives believe the children were exposed to the manufacturing and distribution of the narcotics.

The children’s parents, identified as Miguel Jacobo, 31, and Alma Dominguez, 34, were arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.

Jacobo was charged with multiple felony charges, including narcotics violations, child abuse and child endangerment. Dominguez was charged with felony child endangerment. Both were being held without bail.

The investigation was ongoing.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact Detective Jennifer Cappelen at 951-353-7950 or [email protected]. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through the department’s Atlas 1 mobile app, which is available on both Apple and Android devices.
