It was a little more than three weeks ago that COVID patients began filling up the intensive care units at both Bakersfield hospitals where Mary Lynn Briggs works. It had happened before, but this felt different.

Rebuild SoCal Partnership (RSCP) is pleased to announce that the City of Needles has received funding for a much-needed new well from the California State Water Resources Board (SWRCB). 

The Department of Veterans Affairs has expanded the Shallow Subsidy initiative and will grant  $200 million to 238 nonprofit organizations across the country and territories to provide housing rental assistance to extremely and very low-income Veteran households eligible under VA’s Supportive Services for Veteran Families program.

On Friday, August 27, 2021 about 10:08 PM, deputies from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department - Perris Station responded to a major injury traffic collision near the intersection of Perris Blvd and Orange Avenue in the city of Perris. Deputies arrived within minutes and located a solo vehicle collision involving a red Honda Pilot. The driver of the Honda suffered major injuries and life-saving measures were attempted; however, the driver succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Their identity is not being released at this time.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating missing juvenile, Rubi Cantellano (age 16). Cantellano was last seen in the 15000 block of Perris Blvd. in Moreno Valley, on August 28, 2021 about 6:00 PM. Cantellano is described as a Hispanic female, 5’03”, 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Cantellano was last seen wearing a black shirt, ripped blue jeans, and blue and white Nike high tops.
