Viruses rarely travel alone. Infection spreads alongside myths, rumors and stories about disease. I saw this firsthand when I was an officer in the Epidemic Intelligence Service, deployed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to investigate contagion after contagion. A microbe was my main focus, but the microbe’s spread was fueled by misinformation and disinformation. Falsehoods could accelerate epidemics and make people vulnerable to disease and death.

On this first day of Women’s History Month, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) launched efforts to increase women Veteran participation in VA’s Million Veteran Program (MVP) to aid in genetic research focused on women health issues.

On Friday, February 26, 2021, at 1:03 pm, deputies from the Lake Elsinore station responded to the 3900 block of Ash Street regarding armed robbery. Deputies learned through their investigation, a male driving an older model truck approached two males, pointed a black rifle at them and demanded their phones and wallets. The suspect fled the scene in the pick-up truck.

On Friday, February 26, 2021, at 8:20 P.M., members of the Moreno Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team - Gang Unit conducted an area check in the 26000 block of Deerfern Avenue, in the city of Moreno Valley. Deputies contacted, Owen Marzette, a 39-year-old resident of Moreno Valley and documented criminal street gang member.
