We would like to announce a new program that will allow residents and business owners to register their security camera systems with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. This program will help deter criminal activity and assist deputies with their investigations.

On December 26, 2020, at about 4:01 a.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station were dispatched to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 37000 block of Calle de Lobo, La Cresta. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with two uninjured male residents. They were directed inside where deputies found four males with gunshot wounds.

A law firm specializing in racial and economic justice, employment law, and consumer class actions – has joined forces with Congregations Organized for Prophetic Engagement (COPE) to co-sponsor a Virtual Community and Legal Issues Clinic on Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Facebook Live and YouTube, hosted by MWA partner Joseph Richardson, Esq.

The annual Soboba Gives Back! Toy Drive took a little more planning to implement this year but with the help of many dedicated volunteers, including members of the Soboba Youth Council, lots of children throughout the San Jacinto Valley will have a great new toy this Christmas. Soboba Foundation members worked closely with employees at the Soboba Casino Resort to allow toy donations to be dropped off at the Event Center on six consecutive Tuesdays from Nov. 10 through Dec. 15.

Parents of children enrolled in afterschool programs are happier with their participation than ever before, according to a new study. At the same time, there aren’t nearly enough programs available, and students from low-income families are the most likely to lack access. For every child in an afterschool program today, three more are waiting to get in.
