The students and teachers at Soboba Tribal Preschool on the Soboba Indian Reservation started off the month of March by celebrating Dr. Seuss Day.

The Native American Trail Running Organization’s inaugural trail race at Soboba attracted about 75 runners willing to tackle the terrain in a 5K or 25K run on Feb. 24. NATRO founder and Race Director Sheldon Subith was pleased with the turnout and the participation by Native and non-Native athletes.

Valentine’s Day brought out lots of pink and red hearts throughout the Soboba Indian Reservation as preschoolers to teenagers celebrated the extra sweet holiday on Feb. 14.

The celebration of 100 days of instruction, marking the halfway point of the school year, has become a special event at Soboba Tribal Preschool and Feb. 5 was no exception. Surrounded by hundreds of everything, all lessons and even snacks were focused on this significant number.

Soboba Casino Resort General Manager Jason Cozart said the idea to convert the tennis courts at Soboba Springs Golf Course into pickleball courts was spurred by the growth that the sport has seen across the country in recent years.
