The first day of school at the Soboba Tribal Preschool and Noli Indian School was Aug. 4. Donovan Post, who is director for the preschool and principal for the 6-12 grade school on the Soboba Indian Reservation, joined staff to welcome students back to the campuses.
With a theme of Denim & Diamonds, cancer survivors and caregivers were given a chance to shine at the 10th annual luncheon presented by the Relay for Life of Riverside County East and the Soboba Foundation at the Soboba Casino Resort Event Center on July 31.
The annual celebration of education excellence was held July 24 at the Soboba Casino Resort Event Center where the Soboba Tribal Council presented its Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony. More than 65 students were recognized for outstanding performance during the 2021-2022 school year.
As part of Soboba’s annual six-week Summer Youth Academy, about 15 participants aged 13 to 17 explored community awareness and service with the help of the Soboba Tribal Environmental Department.
The California Fee-to-Trust Consortium is a workgroup of California Tribes and Bureau of Indian Affairs personnel who, in 1998, began work to streamline the process by which Tribes can secure landholdings that are protected by trust status.
