In an effort to keep the wide-open spaces of the Soboba Indian Reservation as pristine as possible, the Soboba Tribal Environmental Department implemented an annual Community Cleanup Day more than 10 years ago. This year’s event produced the best results so far as residents have used the state’s sheltering-in-place guidelines as an opportunity to clean out garages, sheds and yards.

When the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians Tribal Administration decided to have a safe reopening of its Sports Complex pool on July 6, luckily there were four lifeguards who had recently completed certification that could be on duty.

The U.S. is “going in the wrong direction” with the coronavirus surging badly enough that Dr. Anthony Fauci told senators Tuesday some regions are putting the entire country at risk — just as schools and colleges are wrestling with how to safely reopen.

On June 15, the 200-room hotel at the Soboba Casino Resort reopened at 50% capacity with some adjustments to its prior practices. Staff is developing a timeline to gradually increase the occupancy levels as things change in the guidance procedures they are closely following.

The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians Youth Council wanted to be sure that military veterans buried at the Soboba Cemetery were properly honored for their service to America by hosting a Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25.
