Richard R. Ramirez, a California inmate who had been sentenced to death, died Sunday at an outside medical facility in Stockton, according to state corrections officials.
Ramirez, 66, had been transferred from the California Health Care Facility, a state prison medical center in Stockton, before his death.
Officials did not immediately provide additional details about the circumstances surrounding his death.
