Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Murdering Woman In Perris

Date:

PERRIS, CA — A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Perris, authorities said Saturday.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Perris station were requested to check on a woman at a residence in the 2100 block of Gilmmer Way around 9:40 a.m. Friday.

Responding deputies located evidence of a homicide at the location. A homicide unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation and human remains were later found, officials said.

Investigators identified John Cruthirds from Perris as the suspect, and he was subsequently arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center where he was held without bail on suspicion of murder, the department said.

Cruthirds was scheduled to appear Tuesday at the Riverside Hall of Justice.

The victim’s identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Anyone with additional information about the case was encouraged to contact investigator Cline or master investigator Gilbert at 951-955-2777.
