Car-to-car shooting in Riverside leads to gang member’s murder conviction

A gang member who fatally shot a 20-year-old man during a car-to-car exchange of gunfire that followed a chase stemming from the defendant’s aggressive acts to promote his gang was convicted today of first-degree murder and other charges.

Testimony from two police officers was heard Monday in the ongoing trial here in Riverside County Superior Court for a trio of alleged gang members who are accused of killing a man in September of 2017.

Supervisors approve $225,000 San Jacinto Valley Academy resource officer agreement

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors approved a one-year, $225,000 school resource officer agreement for San Jacinto Valley Academy. The Sept. 15 Statement of Proceedings marks the item approved as recommended. It does not list named Ayes or Noes, and it does not print a roll-call tally.
