Academy closure due to COVID-19

On Thursday, November 19, 2020, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department suspended the academy training program at the Ben Clark Training Center due to several recruits testing positive for COVID-19. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is working with Public Health and following the appropriate isolation and quarantine measures.

Deputy Involved Shooting – November 20th, 2020

On November 20th, 2020, at 8:39 pm, deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by a subject who was suspected of driving under the influence near the area of Lark Haven Dr. and Goldfinch St., in the city of Moreno Valley. When deputies activated the emergency lights on their marked Sheriff’s unit, the driver of the vehicle failed to stop, and a vehicle pursuit began.

Rotary Club dinner at American Legion Post 53 in Hemet

On Veterans Day, the Rotary Club of Hemet continued its tradition of serving meals to Veterans at the American Legion Post 53. This year, Panda Express, located at 2350 West Florida Ave in Hemet, provided a generous donation of 50 pre-packaged meals. Hemet Rotarians donate prizes for a raffle drawing and freshly made pecan pies for dessert.

The Oscar-winning director has a two-book deal with Harper, beginning with a novelization of “Once Upon a Time ... In Hollywood” that is scheduled for next summer. “Once Upon a Time” will be a true Tarantino production: The book will come out first as a mass market paperback, like the old pulp novels the filmmaker loves, and will offer “a fresh, playful and shocking departure from the film,” according to Harper.
