Homicide

On December 26, 2020, at about 4:01 a.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station were dispatched to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 37000 block of Calle de Lobo, La Cresta. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with two uninjured male residents. They were directed inside where deputies found four males with gunshot wounds.

Stay-at-home order likely extended due to ICU capacity

Today, December 28 was supposed to be the day Governor Gavin Newsom's stay-at-home order expires. However, state health officials said with ICU beds still occupied the order will most likely be extended.

SOBOBA GIVES BACK! TOY DRIVE BRINGS JOY TO MANY

The annual Soboba Gives Back! Toy Drive took a little more planning to implement this year but with the help of many dedicated volunteers, including members of the Soboba Youth Council, lots of children throughout the San Jacinto Valley will have a great new toy this Christmas. Soboba Foundation members worked closely with employees at the Soboba Casino Resort to allow toy donations to be dropped off at the Event Center on six consecutive Tuesdays from Nov. 10 through Dec. 15.

Unmet Demand for Afterschool Programs Reaches All-Time High

Parents of children enrolled in afterschool programs are happier with their participation than ever before, according to a new study. At the same time, there aren’t nearly enough programs available, and students from low-income families are the most likely to lack access. For every child in an afterschool program today, three more are waiting to get in.
