The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing person, Henry Romero Jr (65 years old). Romero was last seen in the 25000 block of Echo Valley Road in Homeland on May 1, 2021, at approximately 3:00 AM. Romero is described as an Hispanic male adult, 5-feet, 5-inches tall, 120 pounds, gray hair, brown eyes, and a full beard. Romero has a scar on his abdomen, and was last seen wearing black shorts, a black shirt, and black hat.
On April 29, 2021, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Moreno Valley Station Problem Oriented Policing Team, served a search warrant related to marijuana cultivation, in the 11000 block of Vista De Cerros Drive, Moreno Valley. Deputies had previously received information of a possible drug house at the location from a concerned citizen. Further investigation led to the authoring and execution of a search warrant for the residence.
On April 28, 2021, at 8:15 PM, deputies responded to the area of Perris Blvd. and Sunnymead Blvd., Moreno Valley, regarding a major injury traffic collision. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the collision involved a vehicle versus an adult male pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with significant injuries.
On April 23, Secretary Cardona held a virtual roundtable with U.S. Sens. Joe Manchin (WV) and Patty Murray (WA) where they spoke with students who have experienced homelessness. The conversation came on the heels of the Department of Education (ED) announcing plans to distribute $800 million in American Rescue Plan funds to states to support students experiencing homelessness, particularly those disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. ED will distribute $200 million of the total funding to states on Monday.
