Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) faculty, administrators and classified professionals built guitars Oct. 22-24 as part of "Guitar Heroes Operation Twang" at the college's Menifee Valley Campus.

The Historic Hemet Theatre has announced the schedule for the first season of Tribute Mania concerts for 2022. The theatre is returning to the format of three seasons per year, with 8 concerts per season.

Many years ago, my sweet daughter Susanne and my hubby Bob got their heads together and made a video for one of Bob’s Sunday sermons. It was called, “Boiled Alive.” And yes, they actually boiled a frog at our kitchen stove - pretend! It’s amazing what you can do when you edit a video these days. The frog was not boiled, as it appeared to be - but you didn’t know that until the out-take where it showed Bob with frog in hand headed back to the pet store. Nevertheless, we got a ton of nasty emails slamming us for boiling Mr. Green Frog in the Beckett kitchen. (This video can still be viewed on youtube.com.)

At the GRID Alternatives Inland Empire 10-year anniversary celebration, community leaders and partners who are making a positive impact were recognized through the nonprofit’s annual Sunshine Awards. The Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians received one of six awards presented during the virtual event on Oct. 7.

After Bryan Kang’s son was born in July, the occupational therapist and his wife, a teacher, started looking for child care in the Los Angeles area. The couple called eight day care centers: Some didn't have spots for months; others stopped taking their calls and some never answered at all.
