Fatal Traffic Collision

On December 18, 2021, about 4:01 AM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Southwest Station, responded to the report of a major injury traffic collision near the Promenade Temecula Mall in the city of Temecula. Deputies learned the collision involved a single vehicle and a pedestrian. 

Accident Investigators from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to the location and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation revealed the pedestrian was jaywalking across Winchester Road not in a crosswalk before the traffic collision occurred.

The driver remained at the scene and was cooperative with law enforcement.  It is not believed intoxication played a role in this collision. 

The identity of the involved parties will not be released pending further investigation and the notification to next of kin.
