On December 18, 2021, at about 6:24 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff Station responded to the 2100 block of N. Perris Blvd., regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon. Deputies arrived within minutes and located an adult male with multiple gunshot wounds in front of a business. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. Deputies secured the business complex as a crime scene and additional investigative staff from Perris Sheriff Station responded. The Central Homicide Unit also responded and assumed the investigation. 

The victim was identified as Xavier Porter, 29 years of Perris. The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
